Hey travel bugs! We recently checked in to the St. Regis Hotel in Downtown Vancouver. It was my (Hillorie’s) first time ever staying overnight and exploring in Vancouver – crazy right, considering I have lived in Canada all my life! The St. Regis is a boutique hotel which is a small stylish hotel, typically one situated in a fashionable urban location. We specifically loved the location of this hotel, it was central to everything and super easy to get to other places in the city. Check-in was a breeze and we immediately felt welcomed by the greeting staff. Read on to see how our stay here went!
We stayed in the king suite which came with a cute lounge/living area. There was a two-seater couch, table, and a TV. The bedroom is adjacent to the lounge area and could be closed off with a sliding door. There was also a second TV in our bedroom.
The space was comforting and weloming. St. Regis offers L’Occitaine bath products in all rooms and daily bottled Fiji water. Tres chic!
The bathroom has heated floors, a luxury we were so grateful for in the crisp, cool winter!
We couldn’t think of a better place to stay location-wise. St. Regis Vancouver is situated right beside the Granville Skytrain Station which makes it easy to get to from the airport even if you are not renting a car. The Pacific Fair Mall, Holt Renfrew, Hudsons’s Bay and the shopping district is right outside their doorstep. Great for shopping-tourists and very convenient for people like us who forgot to pack a few clothing items on our trip! Across the street you can find Shopper’s Drug Mart, 7/11, a Ramen restaurant and White Spot (Tung loves White Spot burgers). Oh, and did I mention there is a connected Starbucks downstairs?! Like I said, *location*!
This hotel is independently owned and operated since 1913. If you want to take a break from the larger chain hotels and are looking for an award-winning boutique hotel, look no further! The smaller, unique, and upscale property ensures that you are taken care of should any concerns or need for assistance arise.
Every room comes free WiFi (from your own room’s modem!), worldwide phone calls, access to the business centre, and and even free access to the Steve Nash Sports Club; a full-blown gym with personal trainers and group fitness classes.
A full breakfast is included everyday of your stay between 6am-10am. Check out the menu – a fully loaded breakfast! This was perfect for a full day of exploring, walking, shopping, and hiking ahead. Breakfast is served in the basement of the hotel.
Next door to the St. Regis hotel is the St. Regis Bar & Grill where we had dinner on our second day. We got there just in time for happy hour and had a full-sized salad and loaded potato skins for only $5 each! The bar & grill opens til late, so if you can conveniently stumble back up to your room if you happen to over-indulge in drinks… the choice is yours!
Paid parking is available, but in an adjacent building’s lot. Thankfully, you can park your car just outside the hotel doors to unload and get a parking pass before parking. (I know this worries many people as it gave me anxiety to just park on a busy downtown street, but you are allowed to do so!) To access the parking lot, make a left into the alley just a few metres from the hotel entrance.
Robson and Granville streets are where the action is – just a few steps away from St. Regis so explore this vicinity by foot! There is no need to get your car out and pay for parking in the downtown core. We even walked to Coal Harbour (the waterfront) from our hotel as it was less than a 20 minute walk.
